The city needs to be cleaned. There may not be much you can do about the folk that consistently mar the expressways with graffiti, however, a stiff fine should be imposed to those who are caught.Additionally, the city needs to install cameras on the streets as cities such as Chicago and Maryland have done. If a civil infraction is caught on camera then a ticket can be sent to the homes of the offender based on the drivers license number. By having cameras on the streets we will ultimately lessen speeding traffic, people who litter, crime, hit and run accidents and more.

Another problem is the proliferation of crime. There are far too many boarded homes for criminals to drag unsuspecting kids into. During the summer months their are too many areas in the city where the grass has not been mowed where it reaches in some instances heights taller than kids who travel within that path.

We need to have more pride in our city and develop a new slogan, “Everybody for a newer Detroit”, “We love You Detroit” or something that would promote a positive image. We are still battling the scars from the Kwame saga in addition to so many ugly rumors and reputations that people refuse to let die. It’s time to unseat the past and move forward with a new vision of hope , prosperity and revitalization.

I read you loud and clear. Your comments are well founded and will be addressed when I become mayor of Detroit.
