Doc Bradley, that’s a great question.
Unfortunately, we can’t stop murders. However, I am confident we can reduce the homicide rate or crime in general by first, putting more police on the street. Secondly, we need to implement more crime prevention programs. As we all know these types of services costs money. That is why it is extremely important our City government looks at the budget and prioritize spending. The City of Detroit can no longer afford any mismanagement of funds. That is why the next Mayor of Detroit needs to cut programs that don’t work, keep the one that do work and in time create new programs that will enhance city services. Lastly, I think local law enforcement should have some form of relationship with the people in the community. After all, this isn’t just the Mayor’s issue, but the community as well. It’s going to take a group effort for improvement to occur.
